The Database Administrator (DBA) is highly experienced with MS SQL Server. He/she forms part of our IT Operations team. He/she has solid relational database knowledge as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and will be responsible for the operation of our 24x7 mission-critical database servers.

Responsibilities:

- Work with our software developers to develop and maintain code objects (e.g., stored procedures, functions, triggers, views)
- Database backup and recovery
- Troubleshooting of database issues
- Monitoring of database usage and tuning systems to optimize performance

Se requiere:

Requirements:

- 5+ years experience with MS SQL Server & relevant DBA experience in a Windows environment.
- 5+ years experience writing SQL and shell scripts
- Understanding and experience implementing MS SQL Server best practices
- Good knowledge of database design, normalization, and stored procedures
- Experience with database backup and recovery
- Experience with SQL optimization and database tuning
- MySQL experience is advantageous
- An interest and ability to cross train to DB2
- Working experience with Informix database systems is a bonus (can be learned on the job)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience
